JaVar Myatt-Jones: The Changing Face of Geriatric Medicine

JaVar Myatt-Jones lists geriatric medicine as one his areas of expertise, this is a very interesting field at the present time. This is the medical realm that is dedicated to the treatment of senior citizens, and it has always been important, but it is particularly relevant right now. There is a very significant shift in the demographic makeup of the United States underway during our current era. After World War II, there was somewhat of a population explosion in our country that has been dubbed the Baby Boomer phenomenon. Between 1946 and 1964, an unprecedented number of babies were born in America. Now, all of these people are attaining senior citizen status, and it is having a significant impact on doctors like JaVar Myatt-Jones.

To gain an understanding of the situation through hard numbers crunching, look no further than the Social Security Administration. As most people are aware, Social Security is a benefit program that becomes available to eligible senior citizens. A senior can accept a reduced benefit at the age of 62, but the age of full benefit eligibility is between 66 and 67 depending on the applicant's year of birth. The SSA reports that they are accepting about 10,000 applications for Social Security each and every day. This volume is expected to persist into the foreseeable future. When you absorb this fact of life, you can see that the need for doctors like JaVar Myatt-Jones who have experience with geriatric medicine has never been greater. These individuals are doing our society a great service, and we all owe them a debt of gratitude.

Atlanta is a truly diverse town that has many different distinct neighborhoods that all have their own unique qualities. Cultural events abound, and there are a number of world-class museums, including the Atlanta History Center, the Children's Museum of Atlanta, and the High Museum of Art. The Martin Luther King, Jr. national historic site is also located in the city, you can obtain a cornucopia of information about Dr. King and the civil rights movement if you pay a visit to this extraordinary national treasure. Plus, when it comes to entertainment, there are countless music venues, and the culinary scene is very well regarded. This was a great benefit for JaVar Myatt-Jones, because he lists fine dining as one of his areas of interest.

In addition to all of the above, Atlanta is a major league sports town as the home of the Braves, the Hawks, and the Falcons. This is another facet of the city that had to be appealing to JaVar Myatt-Jones, because he is a big fan of NFL football. He left Atlanta after he graduated from Morehouse College in 2001, but one would assume he has many fond memories to look back on.

JaVar Myatt-Jones is a family physician working in The Shoals region of Alabama. The small city is home to people of all kinds of backgrounds and creeds, but one thing is always a constant in his work in the community: the need for better and more proper nutrition. JaVar Myatt-Jones
  • Increased energy. Good nutrition is simply all about giving your body what it needs to do its job properly. JaVar Myatt-Jones tells his patients all the time that healthier they eat, the better all of the body’s many systems, from the brain to digestion and food processing, work and the fewer health problems they will face in the future. Eating well and adding efficiency to your body’s processes will help you feel more energetic.
  • Decreased risk of heart attack or stroke. Heart attacks and strokes are usually caused by clogged arteries. Arteries can be clogged with leftover plaque and other buildups that can form as a result of eating foods with fat contents too high for safe consumption. JaVar Myatt-Jones always urges his patients to cut down on their fat content and eat healthier to avoid such complications in the future.
  • Less risk of infections and viral sicknesses. Good nutrition helps keep the body’s immune system functioning the way it is supposed to, leading to lessened risks of infections and viral illnesses.
JaVar Myatt-Jones has worked with many patients in Florence, Alabama and elsewhere along his journey to be a family medicine physician and knows the importance of nutrition.

If you are interested in tennis, the first thing you should do is find an instructor. A good tennis instructor can explain the rules to you, and help you learn basic swings. An instructor can also help you build the muscles you will need to use and develop your physical stamina.

Next you should take time to practice. It is important for you to become accustomed to using a tennis racket. Practice can help you improve your swing and your hand to eye coordination. The more you practice, the better you may become.

After you become comfortable on a tennis court, you should start playing against opponents. You should try to find individuals who are better players than you. This will provide you with a challenge, and you may be able to learn from those opponents.  Often there are intermural leagues and tennis clubs that can provide you with opponents to hon your skills.

Tennis is a fun sport and great physical exercise. If you are looking for a new hobby that can help you stay in shape, you should consider tennis. Dr. JaVar Myatt-Jones is passionate about medicine and physical health. He enjoys playing tennis to relax and stay in shape.
